2nd Favorite Thing- The dynamics of Charlie’s family are endearing. The grandparents, parents, and Charlie care deeply for each other.

3rd Favorite Thing- Willy Wonka is a silly character. Readers are wondering what goofy thing he is going to do or say next.

4th Favorite Thing- There are natural consequences for the characters who make bad choices. This speaks to many readers desire for justice.

5th Favorite Thing- Each room that the the group goes to in the chocolate factory is so unique. From a teacher’s point of view, this book lends itself well to an end of novel project where students create their own room in the chocolate factory.
